Getting to Utrecht


By plane

 

Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (AMS) is one of the busiest airports in the world, situated 15 km south-west of Amsterdam. The airport offers worldwide direct connections. Low-cost carriers serve Schiphol as well, providing a fairly economical way to get there. Other airports nearby are Rotterdam-The Hague Airport (RTM) and Eindhoven Airport (EIN).

By train

 

From Amsterdam Schiphol Airport it takes 30 minutes by direct train to Utrecht Central station. You can purchase a single-use chipcard from the yellow ticket machines in the Schiphol main hall. Trains to Utrecht depart every 15 minutes from track 1 or 2, direction Nijmegen or Heerlen.

 

Utrecht is also very accessible by train from surrounding countries. Many trains from Germany, Belgium and countries beyond stop in Utrecht. Connections with Paris, Brussels, London, Berlin and Frankfurt are rapid and frequent.

 

By car

 

Utrecht city is quite accessible by car. Highways go to Utrecht from almost every direction. There are many parking facilaties, paid and free.
